In Ghana, climate impacts directly on food production and is coupled with rapid urbanisation. Flooding is also a frequent threat. This results in significant impacts to communities in Accra.
Accra has many unique close-knit communities where local residents work together and use nature-based solutions (NbS) from enhanced ecosystem services that could be used to support communities in becoming climate-resilient.
In Accra, some NbS approaches are being used by municipal and district assemblies mostly in response to flood management and extreme heat.
